Saginaw school board member Ruth Ann Knapp receives alumni award

SAGINAW, MI — Saginaw School Board Trustee and Treasurer Ruth Ann Knapp has been honored with the University of Idaho Alumni Association's Silver and Gold Award. According to Knapp, the Silver and Gold Award was created in 1982 and recognizes living alumni with a distinguished record of achievement and service in their specialized area of endeavor. In what marked a rare school board meeting absence, she said she was joined at the May 12 ceremony by her family and a former college roommate. Being seen as a way to bring honor and recognition to the university, recipients in the past have been awarded based on record of achievement and service including career accomplishments, service to their career organizations, voluntary efforts in charitable causes, efforts which have improved the cultural, social, political or economic well-being of society, prior recognition and honors and artistic, innovative or technical accomplishments.
