SAGINAW, MI — In May, the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Republican Tracey L. Slodowski to a vacant seat on the board, favoring her over opponent Peyton Ball.Voters will decide between the two candidates in the Tuesday, Nov. 8, election.Slodowski's appointment will expire then, allowing constituents to choose whether or not to keep the Republican or place Ball, a Democrat, in the county's District 5 seat for a 2-year term.The District 5 commissioner will represent 18,283 constituents in Fremont, Jonesfield, Lakefield and Richland townships as well as the southwest corner of Thomas Township.
