BRIDGEPORT TWP, MI — A Bridgeport Township house fire has claimed the lives of an elderly married couple.At 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, firefighters responded to an apartment building on Southfield Drive to investigate a burning smell. Crews were then sent to another nearby apartment complex at 8:47 p.m. for a leaf fire and smoke investigation.After departing the second scene shortly after 9 p.m., the crew of one engine company drove through a nearby subdivision to see if there was a possible source for the odors.
